Behind The Scenes

Is it “a philosophical musical, or a simple musical, or a musical-theatrical performance? And we are still looking to find the genre to which this work belongs, “said Giannis Kakleas, in a press conference, the director chosen by Dimitris Papadimitriou to give stage performance to his musical work, inspired by Herman Melville’s monumental novel” Moby Dick ».

CanyshopVFX Company, through its visual effects department “The Division” managed to deliver more than 25 minutes of Full CGI ocean and water scenes with ships, whales, sharks and collision scenes in less than 40 days! something we were told impossible to achieve or accepted as a job by any visual effects company in the market.

CandyshopVFX, a pioneer motion graphic and post production house in Greece who started offering a new film-quality visual effects services through its newly established visual effects department “The Division”, managed to convert the theatrical script into a storyboard, then into a full previsualization in less than one month before we start working on what everyone said “mission impossible”, our team realized that the typical fluid and liquid simulation tools as well as the available rendering engines will not be able to deliver 25 minutes of full CG ocean battle scenes for two big hologram screens in less than 40 days after the previ was created, the intensive research and development work we have been doing in the last few years, with our inhouse simulation and rendering tools, made it possible!
